This Day Has Finally Arrived: Little Brown UK To Publish Harry Potter & The Cursed Child Script

For those of you Harry Potter fans, it is a very blessed day. When I found out from my boss in the office, I actually screamed. And, if I could have, I would have done somersaults even if it isn't appropriate office decorum.

Not only is the eighth installment of the Harry Potter franchise going to be published in book form - for those of us who couldn't make it to purchase tickets for the stage play in time - but it's going to be published by the fantastic Little, Brown Book Group who are not only a fantastic publishing company representing J.K. under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith but they are also MY publishing company and I am so proud to be a part of the team.

The script will be published in Hardback at 00:01am on the 31st July 2016 - the day after the opening night of the play and coincidentally Harry Potter's birthday. I am hoping there will be some sort of midnight opening, dressing-up event going on, but nothing has been confirmed or organised... yet...

In the US the script will be published by Scholastic and in eBook by Pottermore, the Harry Potter online website and wizarding channel.

Neil Blair, representative of J. K Rowling, remarked on the importance of 2016 for the Potter heads:

“2016 is a big year for the millions of Harry Potter fans around the world, with the release of the much anticipated play and film. We are working closely with our key publishing partners and with Pottermore to deliver titles that complement these new projects, whilst bringing new energy and excitement to J K Rowling’s Wizarding World publishing for new readers and existing fans alike.”

Bloomsbury are also planning to launch four house-themed titles for this year's 20th anniversary of the Philisopher's Stone. The publication of the illustrated version of the Chamber of Secrets is also planned for publication in October this year.

This is fantastic news for all of us Potter heads and for Little, Brown. Share the excitement! #CursedChild

Literally me when I found out the news...
