Happy National Book Lovers Day!
A day for giving and loving and sharing and receive- Who am I kidding? If you don't read, you're going to hell.
If you've never met a book lover, then my advice is... don't. We are a scary breed. We're especially scary around those that say they've seen the movie adaptation and not read the book.
Or those that say they don't like reading because it's boring...
The worst are those that pretend they like reading and then you ask them what was the last book they read and they say Fifty Shades of Grey.
Or The Girl on the Train...
I'm kidding, The Girl on the Train was a good book... Sort of.
They great thing about being a book lover is that people instantly think you're great girlfriend material because you're literally like every female role in any rom com or female orientated book... But the truth is you get WAY too emotionally invested in fictional book hunks in which any real man can never live up to. *Read any romance, classic or contemporary novel for evidence.
You spend more time looking at words on a page than you do at what is in front of you.
And when you get real deep into a book and feel closer to the characters than anyone in real life...
You also feel like you have an intellectual superiority when you go over to a friend's house and their parents start talking about William Blake and the Romantic poets.
But the best thing about being a book lover is being around other book lovers where you can talk and celebrate all of these things, and talk about the struggles and laugh at those that cannot possibly match your sass and incredibleness... I am kidding. Sort of.
Happy #NationalBookLoversDay and happy reading!
